The above map shows Portland Creek and surrounding mountains (red square) in relation to Gros Morne National Park, Main River National Heritage River (bottom right of square), the city of Corner Brook, and the airport town of Deer Lake.

 

Map 2. Flat Hills to Western Brook (of Parsons Pond) Trek 

 


Map 2 shows the Flat Hills to Western Brook (of Parsons Pond) Trek (blue line) across the Appalachian. This is a 50 kilometer (30 mile) four day (three night) trek across remote backcountry mountains (rising 700 meters - over 2200 feet) and inland fiords valleys. (see Photos 10 - 63)

 

Map 3. East Brook Trek 

 


Map 3 shows East Brook Trek (blue line) across the Flat Hills (700m) southeast of Portland Creek. This is a 30 kilometer (18 mile) two day (one night) trek to scenic East Brook Gulch. (see Photos 10 - 27)

 

Map 4. East Brook - Southwest Feeder Trek 

 


Map 4 shows East Brook - Southwest Feeder Trek (blue line) across the Flat Hills (700m) southeast of Portland Creek. This is a 40 kilometer (24 mile) three day (two night) hike between two scenic glaciar-carved fiords, East Brook and Portland Creek Southwest Feeder Gulches. (see Photos 10 - 27)
